Welcome to my journey through the vineyards and wineries of Great Britain. I'm Anahita Shams, a WSET-certified wine expert and BBC Senior Broadcast Journalist, with a passion for discovering exceptional wines and, just as importantly, the people and places behind them.

I have travelled through some of the world's great wine regions — from France, Italy and Spain to Germany, Hungary, Australia and California — but today, some of the most fascinating wine stories are being written much closer to home.

Across Great Britain, a new generation of vineyards and wineries is creating wines with character, ambition and a growing sense of identity. From established estates to exciting new producers, I want to introduce you to the people who are planting the vines, nurturing the grapes and putting their passion into every bottle.

So, whenever I can, I head out to a new vineyard. I meet the owners and winemakers, walk among the vines, taste their wines and learn about the grapes, the land, the vintages and the vision behind each winery. Then I share those discoveries with you.
